Replacement filter Ø 200 × 2,000 mm with rod suspension, for SPÄNEX dust collectors with a tall filter bed: loop at the top for the filter rod, hem at the bottom for fastening with a hose clamp – no snap ring. Why this bag lasts longer Heavy felt, strong loop
More material where it matters. Our filter felt weighs 470 grams per square meter and is 1.4 millimeters thick. That is considerably more than many low-cost replacement filters. You can feel it right away: the felt is firm and dense instead of thin and papery.
With rod suspension, the loop at the top carries the full weight of the bag plus dust cake, and it gets jerked with every cleaning cycle. That is exactly where light felts tear out over time. The measured tensile strength of our felt is over 1,400 N per 5 cm lengthwise – mathematically equivalent to a pull of about 140 kg (approx. 310 lb) on a hand-wide strip.
The longitudinal seam is also built for continuous operation: welded or triple-stitched with polyester thread.
Will the bag fit your system? How to measure, suspension, fastening
The bag is made for SPÄNEX dust collectors with rod suspension: the loop at the top hangs over the filter rod, the hem at the bottom is fastened with a standard hose clamp or wire clamp. No snap ring is used. Three dimensions determine the fit:
- Diameter – nominal 200 mm, made at 204 mm
- Overall length – here 2,060 mm (effective length 2,000 mm)
- Flat width – lay the bag flat and measure across: here 320 mm inside, 325 mm outside
Why 204 instead of 200 mm? You measure 200 mm on your system – that is the common size. This bag is not clipped into a cell plate with a snap ring but pulled over a spigot. That is why it is made 4 mm wider, so it slides on cleanly and the hose clamp seals tightly.
Hose clamps are not included. Other lengths, diameters or grades are available made to order on request.

Dust class "M" – what it means Testing, wood dust, occupational safety
Filter media of dust class "M" are approved for hazardous dusts, which include wood dust. The test verifies that less than 0.1 % of the dust passes through the filter. The IFA certificate for this media is valid until Sept 24, 2027.
BIA or IFA – they mean the same thing. Many people still know the dust class as "BIA 'M'". The testing institute used to be called BIA (the German employers' liability insurance institute for occupational safety), became BGIA in 2003 and is now IFA – the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). Current test certificates therefore carry the IFA name; "BIA 'M'" and "IFA 'M'" refer to the same dust class. Explained in detail in our article: BIA "M", IFA "M", dust class M →
The calendered surface is slightly compacted and smoothed. As a result, the dust cake builds up mainly on the surface instead of migrating into the fibers – cleaning is easier, differential pressure stays lower and the fan uses less power.
