Bircher ESM-52D Safety Mat 1600 × 750 mm – Factory New, No. 211716/B

The Bircher ESM-52D is a pressure-sensitive safety mat that guards hazardous areas on machines and systems. When someone steps on the mat, the control unit opens the safety circuit and stops the hazardous movement. On HOMAG, WEEKE (e.g. BP 155, BAZ, BOF) and IMA CNC machining centres it protects the operator area in front of the machine table.

This mat is factory new and is supplied in the manufacturer's original packaging.

Need it right away? The same mat is available as a stock item from Lennestadt – factory new and unused, possibly with slight storage or packaging marks.

• Cleaning: Wipe the surface with water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Vacuum or sweep away chips and dust regularly so nothing builds up under the mat. The PUR surface resists oils, petrol, solvents and acids.
• Keep cable ends dry and clean. Do not kink, pinch or pull the cables; minimum bending radius 50 mm. The cables provide pressure equalisation: use breathable connection housings and only hand-tighten cable glands.
• Monthly function test: Press each mat by hand and check that the machine stops safely.
• Floor: level, clean and free of bumps. Avoid standing water; in wet areas lay the mat on a ventilated grating and never on fleece.
• Laying: label face down, knobs up. Join mats only at the switching edges. Use ramp rails in walkways and Z-rails elsewhere.
• Storage and transport: flat, dry and clean, ideally in the original packaging. Do not bend – a bent mat reports “occupied” permanently.

Commissioning must only be carried out by qualified personnel. The full PL e safety level is only achieved with the Bircher ESD3 or EsMatix3 control units.
