• This used edge banding unit is a specialized spare part for full-surface 4-sided edging and all-round edge banding on butt joints in IMA 680, 480, and 980 series machining centers. The module comes from an IMA 680 V machine with serial number 2216 and built in 2001.
• The unit is equipped with a main pressure roller with a diameter of 100 mm and a pneumatically controlled post-pressing roller with a diameter of 35 mm. An integrated adhesive application unit ensures even coating of the edge material with temperature and level control.
• The servo drive automatically adapts to the track speed and ensures precise feeding of the edge band. For re-activating the adhesive surface, a hot air unit with 7.5 kW is installed on the adhesive side. On the decorative side, an IR emitter with 600 watts supports material deformation for small radii.
• Further equipment includes a pneumatically driven cutting saw with butt edge sensing and an NC axis with a swivel range of up to 740 degrees and a pneumatic Z-stroke of 125 mm. Additionally, the unit has a separate NC axis in the Y-direction, which works in the X-direction on gantry machines and can be controlled independently of the main axis.
