Holz, Glas und Metall brauchen unterschiedliche Sauger. Holzsauger arbeiten meist mit zwei Vakuumkreisen, Glassauger stehen auf dem Glatttisch.

Der Reibbelag ist das Verschleißteil, nicht der Saugerkörper. Ist er hart, glasig oder eingelaufen, hält das Werkstück nicht mehr – auch wenn der Sauger äußerlich in Ordnung aussieht.
